This September Engineered Products Group was honored with a 2007 Environmental Excellence Award for the LEAN Energy project that was rolled out in FY07. The EHS Excellence Awards recognize extraordinary efforts in EHS throughout the organization. The Awards also promote EHS awareness and involvement among employees and inspires EHS greatness at Kennametal. A panel of external judges reviewed global nominees for the awards.

To meet the challenge of energy reduction EPG rolled out a LEAN Energy Reduction Project. Lean events were completed in FY07 for Irwin, Chestnut Ridge, Traverse City, Victoria and Farmington Hills. In FY08 LEAN energy events will be held at all other EPG locations.
