Triloy bars

Tricon Metals offers Triloy HT, Triloy TG&P, and Durralex bars.

Triloy HT

Triloy HT

Triloy® HT is a  quenched, tempered, and stress-free alloy bar that's becoming one of the most used alloy steel shafting materials in the industry.

  • Very high strength levels and high hardness.
  • Pre-hardened, readily machinable, and deep-hardened to core.
  • Superior toughness, demagnatized, and vacuum degassed.
  • Special treatment to enhance machinability and internal cleanliness.
  • Fine-grain microstructure and specially treated to reduce residual stresses.
  • Reduced distortion during machining.
  • Improved fatigue properties provide longer service life.
  • Available in rolled round bars from 1" to 11" diameter; forged/rough-turned round bar from 11.5" through 18" diameter; and forgings in custom-ordered sizes.

Triloy TG&P

Triloy TG&P

Triloy® TG&P (turned, ground, and polished) bars are produced from Triloy HT stock. Further manufacturing includes turning, grinding, and polishing to aaccurate diameters with hi-luster surface finish. This eliminates surface defects, bows, and costly additional machining.

  • Stocked in 21-25 ft. random lengths.
  • Availalbe in round shapes only in sizes 1/2" to 6" diameter in standard 1/16" increments.

Durralex

Durralex

Durralex® is a two-phase (duplex) ferritic/austenitic stainless steel that combines improved stress corrosion resistance and high strength. This combination helps to reduce cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion.

  • High strength is nearly twice the yield strength of standard austenitic stainless steels.
  • Superior resistance to stress and general corrosion in most media over 316L or 317L.
  • Higher resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting than 316L stainless steel.
  • Better corrosion fatigue resistance and higher thermal conductivity than standard austenitic grades.
  • Excellent choice for chloride bearing environments.
  • Good sulfide stress corrosion cracking resistance.
  • High resistance to erosion and excellent toughness.
  • Good machinability and weldability.
