New Beyond™ Grade Solid End Mills from Kennametal!

(LATROBE, PA) – Kennametal’s innovative Beyond™ platform of high-performance tooling grades continues to garner exceptional reviews from metalworking customers worldwide. Now, Kennametal is announcing KCPM15™, the first Beyond grade for solid-carbide end mills. Featuring an improved high-performance carbide substrate with proprietary aluminum titanium nitride (AlTiN) PVD coating, KCPM15 is engineered to deliver up to 30% longer tool life milling steels and stainless steels due to improved resistance to cratering, flank wear, and depth of cut notch.

“Tests measuring flank wear after 300 feet showed other solid-carbide end mills with commercial coatings had more than twice the flank wear of KCPM15,” says Oliver Sax, Senior Global Product Manager, Solid End Mills. “Whether roughing steels or finishing stainless steel, KCPM15 solid-carbide end mills showed demonstrably longer tool life and improved surface conditions.”

In addition to a high-performance carbide substrate and advanced AlTiN coating, KCPM15 end mills also feature precise, high-quality edge preparation for improved coating adhesion and edge stability. The resulting improved chip control also contributes to extended tool life and performance.
