Beyond™ ISO Ceramic Insert Expansion

Grades KYK10™, KYK25™, KYS25™, and KYS30™
If you are working on high-speed, continuous, and lightly interrupted turning applications, your first choice for inserts should be the new Beyond ISO KYK ceramic inserts. Designed for cast iron turning, these inserts will give you better fracture toughness, wear resistance, and application range. This expanded portfolio of KYK10 and KYK25 grades can help you achieve lower machining cylce times and overall manufacturing costs.
The new Beyond ISO KYS ceramic grades should be your first choice for high-speed turning in high-temp alloys. The multilayer coating is more effective than uncoated grades, and the sialon ceramic substrate offers excellent resistance to depth-of-cut notching when compared to whisker reinforced ceramics.
What does this mean for you?
Grade KYK10:
- up to 20% longer tool life than current grade KY1310
- best for continuous turning of cast iron materials and lightly interrupted cuts
Grade KYK25:
- up to 30% longer tool life than competitive CVD-coated ceramic grades
- 12-micron thick coating means excellent wear resistance, while pre-coat treatment means consistent performance.
Grade KYS25:
- higher speeds, lower cutting forces, and excellent surface finish
- advanced CVD coating means excellent depth-of-cut notch resistance
Grade KYS30:
- long, consistent tool life with excellent toughness
- performs well in a wide range of conditions, including interrupted cuts and scale applications
