Carlos M. Cardoso
Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer
Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer Carlos Cardoso joined Kennametal Inc. in April 2003.
Before serving in his current role with Kennametal, Mr. Cardoso served as the company’s Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this position, he was responsible for Kennametal's Metalworking Solutions and Services and Advanced Materials Solutions businesses, representing 90% of the company’s total revenues.
Mr. Cardoso has an extensive global background having lived and worked on three continents. Before joining Kennametal, Mr. Cardoso served as President of the $1.3 billion Pump Division of Flowserve Corporation. This division accounted for 70% of total company revenues with 5,000 employees worldwide. Previously, Mr. Cardoso spent over six years with Honeywell / AlliedSignal where he held several positions of increasing responsibility including; Vice President and General Manager of Engine Systems and Accessories (ESA), Vice President and General Manager of Marketing Sales and Service Aerospace Services, and Vice President Operations for Aerospace Equipment Systems.
Named one of America’s “Best Chief Executive Officers” (Institutional Investor), Mr. Cardoso serves as chairman of the Manufacturers Alliance for Productivity and Innovation (MAPI); on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM); and on the U.S. Manufacturing Council under the Department of Commerce, where he also serves as chair of the Subcommittee on Workforce and Public Perception of Manufacturing. He also is co-chair of the Pennsylvania Governor’s Manufacturing Advisory Council and serves on the Stanley Black & Decker Board of Directors; the Hubbell Incorporated Board of Directors, the Fairfield University Board of Trustees; the board of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development; and the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute council.
Mr. Cardoso has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Fairfield University in Connecticut, a master’s degree in management from the Hartford Graduate Center and doctor of humane letters degree (honorary) awarded by Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He completed the Executive Management Program at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, as well as the AlliedSignal Executive Management Program and is a certified Six Sigma and Lean Green Belt.
Judith L. Bacchus
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Judith L. Bacchus is Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer of Kennametal Inc. In this position, Ms. Bacchus oversees all human resources responsibilities worldwide.
Ms. Bacchus joined Kennametal in April 2006. Prior to her current role, she served as Vice President Human Resources for Kennametal’s Shared Services, Growth and Segment functions and also led the Global Talent Acquisition team. Before joining Kennametal, Ms. Bacchus was Human Resources Generalist - North America for the Marconi Corporation. She has more than 20 years of experience as a human resource professional.
Ms. Bacchus is a member of the Board of Directors for St. Vincent College and in addition serves on the Council of Advisors to the St. Vincent College McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government. She holds a Bachelor of Science in administration and management from LaRoche College in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
Robert J. Clemens
Vice President and Chief Technical Officer
Robert J. Clemens, Ph.D., is Vice President and Chief Technical Officer of Kennametal Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading Kennametal’s global Research, Development and Engineering organization.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Dr. Clemens was Vice President, Corporate Technology at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee. While at Eastman, Bob held various business and technology leadership positions. Earlier in his career, he also worked in technical services at Firestone Plastics Company. He has more than 35 years of experience in technology, research and new business development.
Dr. Clemens holds a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Ursinus College and a doctorate in organic chemistry from Princeton University. He holds over a dozen patents and has authored numerous technical publications.
Dr. Clemens serves on the board of CMF International, the Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing Management Council of the American Management Association, and is a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi.
Peter A. Dragich
Vice President Integrated Supply Chain and Logistics
Peter A. Dragich is Vice President Integrated Supply Chain and Logistics (ISCL) for Kennametal Inc. In this position, Mr. Dragich is responsible for the company’s global manufacturing operations; distribution centers and reconditioning facilities; with additional responsibilities for supply chain management; supplier sourcing; advanced manufacturing engineering; and environmental, health and safety.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Dragich was Vice President, Global Field Operations, Climate, Controls, and Security for United Technologies Corporation. He also served in several manufacturing management positions at Ford Motor Company and was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. In addition, he has more than 23 years of experience in supply chain management and cross-functional collaboration.
Mr. Dragich holds a master’s of business administration degree in strategy and operations management from the University of Michigan and a bachelor of science degree in operations research and management from Case Western Reserve University.
Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller
Martha Fusco is Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller of Kennametal Inc. In this role, Ms. Fusco is responsible for the company’s corporate and financial accounting, planning, reporting and controlling.
Ms. Fusco joined Kennametal in 2005 and prior to assuming her current role in December 2009, she was the Controller for Kennametal’s Metalworking Solutions and Services Group Americas region. Before joining Kennametal, Ms. Fusco spent more than eight years with Deloitte & Touche.
Ms. Fusco holds a bachelor’s of science degree from Duquesne University and is a certified public accountant.
Kennametal Vice President and
Executive Vice President, Industrial Segment
Jeswant Gill is Kennametal vice president and executive vice president of the Industrial segment of Kennametal Inc. In this position, Mr. Gill has full global responsibility for growth in diverse industries served by Kennametal and WIDIA metalworking solutions and services.
Previously, Mr. Gill served as vice president, global services industrial technologies, at Ingersoll-Rand Company. Before, he was president of the firm’s security technologies business in the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Gill has more than 25 years of industry experience and has also held several leadership positions in Asia and North America with Invensys PLC and Johnson Controls Inc.
Mr. Gill holds both a bachelor of science degree in engineering physics and a master’s degree in business administration from the Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.
Steven R. Hanna
Vice President & Chief Information Officer
Steven R. Hanna is Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Kennametal Inc. In this role, he is responsible for Kennametal’s Information Technology function worldwide.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Hanna served as Corporate Information Officer for General Motors Corporation, where he was responsible for technology strategy development and deployment for the world’s largest automotive company. Prior to this role, Mr. Hanna served as Executive Director of Product Development and Services for the Supply Chain Group at General Motors as well as CIO for the GM Truck Group. Previously, he held the position of Executive Vice President, CIO of Ross Roy Communications. In addition, Mr. Hanna served in various management roles with Marriott Corporation including Vice President, CIO Host Marriott. Mr. Hanna has more than 30 years of experience in various aspects of information technology in a variety of industries.
Mr. Hanna holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.
John H. Jacko, Jr.
Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
John H. Jacko, Jr. is Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Kennametal Inc. In this role, Mr. Jacko is responsible for enterprise marketing and corporate strategy.
Before serving in his current role, Mr. Jacko served as the company’s Vice President Corporate Strategy and Vice President Global Marketing for Kennametal’s Metalworking Solutions and Services Group (MSSG). He joined Kennametal in March 2007.
Previously, Mr. Jacko served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Flowserve Corporation. Prior to that, he spent six years with Honeywell Aerospace (previously AlliedSignal) in various management positions including Vice President Customer and Product Support and Director, Customer Business. Before joining Honeywell, Mr. Jacko served as Manager, Customer Support – Commercial Helicopters for Textron Lycoming in Stratford, Connecticut. He has over 25 years of experience in the areas of marketing, strategy, product management, branding, portfolio management and communications.
Mr. Jacko holds a bachelor of science degree in engineering from the University of Connecticut and a master’s in business administration from the University of New Haven. He is also Green Belt certified in Six Sigma.
Brian E. Kelly
Vice President, Tax and Treasury, and Treasurer
Mr. Kelly is Vice President, Tax and Treasury, and Treasurer for Kennametal Inc. In this role he is responsible for worldwide tax planning and compliance, including the structuring of acquisitions and developing tax efficient capital structure strategies, as well as treasury activities, including corporate finance, foreign exchange exposure management, cash management, banking relations, corporate credit / receivables management and vendor support services.
Before serving in his current role, Mr. Kelly was Vice President Corporate Tax and Assistant Treasurer. He joined Kennametal in 1996 and previously worked in the tax departments at Westinghouse Electric Corp and E.I. DuPont.
Mr. Kelly holds a master of science degree in taxation from Robert Morris University and a bachelor of science degree in business from Clarion University. Brian is an active volunteer in youth sports in Penn Township and also serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Westmoreland County.
James M. Kohosek
Kennametal Vice President and
Executive Vice President, Infrastructure Segment
James M. Kohosek is Kennametal vice president and executive vice president of the Infrastructure segment of Kennametal Inc. In this position, Mr. Kohosek has full global responsibility for growth of the company’s engineered products and life-extending surface technologies for customers in earthworks, energy and process industries.
Mr. Kohosek joined Kennametal in September 2008. Prior to his current role, he served as vice president, global surface technologies, ensuring growth of Kennametal’s wear-resistant surfacing solutions. Previously, he was vice president, global transportation, providing full global profit and loss responsibility for the cutting tool business, and vice president, general industrial, providing full global profit and loss responsibility for the tooling business. Before joining Kennametal, Mr. Kohosek served as vice president and chief finance officer, industrial technologies sector, for Ingersoll Rand Corporation. He has more than 30 years of experience as a business growth leader.
Mr. Kohosek is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance, and attended the executive master of business administration program at the University of Utah.
Kevin G. Nowe
Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel
Kevin G. Nowe is Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel. In this position, he has overall legal responsibility for the company and its legal department and serves as secretary to the Board of Directors.
Kevin joined Kennametal in 1992. In his previous role as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, he was also responsible for legal direction of global mergers and acquisitions, ethics and compliance, subsidiary management, as well as legal support of environmental, health and safety efforts.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Nowe served 13 years with Marathon Oil Company, in several senior management positions. Most recently, he was Senior Marketing Counsel, in Enon, Ohio, where he was responsible for all legal matters of Emro Marketing Company, a significant subsidiary of Marathon, which at the time had $2.5 billion in sales and 1,500 employees.
Mr. Nowe received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and journalism from the University of Pittsburgh; his juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University; and his executive MBA from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Mr. Nowe is a member of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI Law Council.
Frank P. Simpkins
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Frank P. Simpkins is Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT). In this role, Mr. Simpkins is responsible for the company’s accounting, finance, internal audit, investor relations, M&A, tax and ,treasury functions.
Mr. Simpkins joined Kennametal in October 1995, and has held a number of positions of increasing responsibility within the Finance organization. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Kennametal Extrude Hone Corporation. Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Simpkins was CPA / Manager with the former Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers), having joined Coopers in 1986.
Mr. Simpkins earned a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pa., and is a Certified Public Accountant.
