Ronald M. De Feo
President and Chief Executive Officer
Ronald (Ron) De Feo is President and Chief Executive Officer of Kennametal Inc.
With more than 20 years of CEO experience, Mr. De Feo brings extensive knowledge in the manufacturing sector with cyclical businesses.
A Kennametal board member since 2001, Mr. De Feo served as the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Terex Corporation (a global manufacturer of machinery and industrial products), from March 1998 and March 1995, respectively, until his retirement from the company at the end of 2015.
Prior to joining Terex, Mr. De Feo was a Senior Vice President of J.I. Case Company, the former Tenneco farm and construction equipment division and also served as Managing Director of Case Construction Equipment throughout Europe. He began his career in 1974 at Procter & Gamble in marketing and brand management where he spent ten years advancing through the corporation.
Mr. De Feo holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics and philosophy from Iona College and in 2013 was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from the institution. Today he serves on Iona College’s Board of Trustees. In addition, Mr. De Feo serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Bridgeport Hospital Foundation in Connecticut and is a member of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) board where he has been honored as an Industry Hall of Fame Inductee.
Judith L. Bacchus
Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Corporate Relations Officer, Kennametal Inc.
Judith L. Bacchus is vice president and chief human resources and corporate relations officer of Kennametal Inc. In this position, Ms. Bacchus oversees all human resources responsibilities and leads the company's internal and external corporate relations worldwide.
Ms. Bacchus joined Kennametal in April 2006. Prior to her current role, she served as vice president human resources for Kennametal’s shared services, growth and segment functions and also led the global talent acquisition team. Before joining Kennametal, Ms. Bacchus was human resources generalist - North America for the Marconi Corporation. She has more than 20 years of experience as a human resource professional.
Ms. Bacchus is a member of the board of directors for St. Vincent College and in addition serves on the council of advisors to the St. Vincent College McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government. She holds a Bachelor of Science in administration and management from LaRoche College in Allison Park, Pennsylvania.
Vice President, Kennametal Inc. and President, Industrial Segment
Charles (Chuck) Byrnes, Jr. is vice president of Kennametal Inc. and president of the company’s industrial segment. In this role, Mr. Byrnes has full global responsibility for growth in diverse industries served by Kennametal’s industrial business.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Byrnes served as president at General Bearing Corporation. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing for Accuride Corporation. He also held numerous leadership positions in North America and Europe across sales, marketing, new business development, purchasing and engineering at Accuride Corporation and The Timken Company. In addition, he has nearly 30 years of global commercial experience in the metals components industry.
Mr. Byrnes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Robert J. Clemens
Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, Kennametal Inc.
Robert J. Clemens, Ph.D., is vice president and chief technical officer of Kennametal Inc. In this role, he is responsible for leading Kennametal’s global research, development and engineering organization.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Dr. Clemens was vice president, corporate technology at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tennessee. While at Eastman, Bob held various business and technology leadership positions. Earlier in his career, he also worked in technical services at Firestone Plastics Company. He has more than 35 years of experience in technology, research and new business development.
Dr. Clemens holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Ursinus College and a doctorate in organic chemistry from Princeton University. He holds over a dozen patents and has authored numerous technical publications.
Dr. Clemens serves on the board of CMF International, the Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing Management Council of the American Management Association, and is a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi.
Peter A. Dragich
Vice President, Kennametal Inc. and President, Infrastructure Segment
Peter A. Dragich is vice president of Kennametal Inc. and president of the company’s infrastructure segment. In this position, Mr. Dragich has full global responsibility for growth in diverse industries served by Kennametal’s infrastructure business.
Mr. Dragich joined Kennametal in October 2012 as vice president integrated supply chain and logistics (ISCL). Prior to Kennametal, Mr. Dragich was vice president, global field operations, climate, controls, and security for United Technologies Corporation. He also served in several manufacturing management positions at Ford Motor Company and was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. In addition, he has more than 23 years of experience in supply chain management and cross-functional collaboration.
Mr. Dragich holds a Master's of Business Administration degree in strategy and operations management from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in operations research and management from Case Western Reserve University.
Vice President Finance and Corporate Controller Kennametal Inc.
Martha Fusco is vice president finance and corporate controller of Kennametal Inc. In this role, Ms. Fusco is responsible for the company’s corporate and financial accounting, planning, reporting and controlling.
Ms. Fusco joined Kennametal in 2005 and prior to assuming her current role in December 2009, she was the controller for Kennametal’s metalworking solutions and services group Americas region. Before joining Kennametal, Ms. Fusco spent more than eight years with Deloitte & Touche.
Ms. Fusco holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Duquesne University and is a certified public accountant.
Jan Kees van Gaalen
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Kennametal Inc.
.Jan Kees van Gaalen is vice president and chief financial officer of Kennametal Inc. In this role, Mr. van Gaalen leads the company’s finance, treasury, accounting and investor relations functions.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. van Gaalen was executive vice president and chief financial officer for Dresser-Rand. Before this role, he served as vice president and treasurer for Baker Hughes, Inc. in Houston, Texas as well as vice president finance and chief financial officer for Vale Inco Ltd., in Jakarta, Indonesia. In addition, Mr. van Gaalen has more than 34 years of global experience in business analytics, treasury, audit, business development and commercial management.
Mr. van Gaalen holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Netherlands and a Master's of Business Administration degree in business administration from the HEC Management School in France.
Steven R. Hanna
Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Kennametal Inc.
Steven R. Hanna is vice president and chief information officer of Kennametal Inc. In this role, he is responsible for Kennametal’s information technology function worldwide.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Hanna served as corporate information officer for General Motors Corporation, where he was responsible for technology strategy development and deployment for the world’s largest automotive company. Prior to this role, Mr. Hanna served as executive director of product development and services for the supply chain group at General Motors as well as CIO for the GM Truck Group. Previously, he held the position of executive vice president, CIO of Ross Roy Communications. In addition, Mr. Hanna served in various management roles with Marriott Corporation including vice president, CIO Host Marriott. Mr. Hanna has more than 30 years of experience in various aspects of information technology in a variety of industries.
Mr. Hanna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.
John H. Jacko, Jr.
Vice President Business Development, Kennametal Inc.
John H. Jacko, Jr. is vice president of business development at Kennametal Inc. In this role, Mr. Jacko is responsible for identifying new business development opportunities, while also providing strategic oversite to the company’s branding, digital, pricing and services functions.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Jacko served as the company’s chief marketing officer, vice president corporate strategy and vice president global marketing for Kennametal’s Metalworking Solutions and Services Group (MSSG). He joined Kennametal in March 2007.
Previously, Mr. Jacko served as senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Flowserve Corporation. Prior to that, he spent six years with Honeywell Aerospace (previously AlliedSignal) in various management positions including vice president customer and product support and director, customer business. Before joining Honeywell, Mr. Jacko served as manager, customer support – commercial helicopters for Textron Lycoming in Stratford, Connecticut. He has over 25 years of experience in the areas of marketing, strategy, product management, branding, portfolio management and communications.
Mr. Jacko holds a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Connecticut and a Master's of Business Administration degree from the University of New Haven. He is also Green Belt certified in Six Sigma.
Kevin G. Nowe
Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel, Kennametal Inc.
Kevin G. Nowe is vice president, secretary and general counsel of Kennametal Inc. In this position, he has overall legal responsibility for the company and its legal department and serves as secretary to the board of directors.
Kevin joined Kennametal in 1992. In his previous role as assistant general counsel and assistant secretary, he was also responsible for legal direction of global mergers and acquisitions, ethics and compliance, subsidiary management, as well as legal support of environmental, health and safety efforts.
Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Nowe served 13 years with Marathon Oil Company, in several senior management positions. Most recently, he was senior marketing counsel, in Enon, Ohio, where he was responsible for all legal matters of Emro Marketing Company, a significant subsidiary of Marathon, which at the time had $2.5 billion in sales and 1,500 employees.
Mr. Nowe received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and journalism from the University of Pittsburgh; his Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve University; and his executive Master's of Business Administration degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Mr. Nowe is a member of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI Law Council.
Vice President Special Programs and Projects, Kennametal Inc.
Greg Temple is vice president of special programs and projects at Kennametal Inc. In this position, Mr. Temple is responsible for the leading Kennametal’s special projects and initiatives, while providing strategic oversite to the company’s sourcing and supply planning functions.
Before serving in his current role, Mr. Temple served as the company’s chief supply chain officer. Prior to joining Kennametal, Mr. Temple was senior vice president of global operations at Sensata Technologies. He also held global operations leadership positions with Ecolab Corporation, Avery Dennison Corporation and The Clorox Company, and has served as an operating partner for the private equity firm Apollo Global Management. In addition, he has more than 30 years of experience in operations and supply chain management.
Mr. Temple holds a Master of Business Administration in finance and technology from the University of California, Davis and a Bachelor of Science degree in marine engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
