Your security settings need to be set to “Medium.” A setting
higher than that results in improper screen displays and you will not
be able to login to the secure “commerce” portion of the site.

How do I change my security settings
in IE6?
Click on “Tools” in the menu bar, select “Internet Options…”
and then select the “Security” tab. Next select the “Custom”
button. Finally reset to “Medium” and click on “OK”
to close out the “Security Settings” and “Internet Options”
screens.

Why, when I am trying to login
in using IE5+, does the login page keeps reappearing after I enter my
login and password?
A possibility is that your IE cache refresh settings are set to “Never.”
To change this setting: Click on “Tools” in the menu bar,
select “Internet Options…” and then select the “Settings”
button. At a minimum, select the “Automatically” setting.
Click on “OK” to close out the “Settings” and
“Internet Options” screens.

Why does my commerce session
logout after a period of inactivity?
For security reasons, Kennametal.com commerce sessions timeout after 60
minutes of inactivity. To continue your session, simply login again.

What is a Persistent Cart?
Kennametal.com maintains your commerce order (by login ID) in a persistent shopping
cart. A persistent shopping cart environment exists once you place an order or add selected
items from an order, contract, quote or favorites screen into the shopping cart.
This allows you to maintain an ongoing shopping cart until you are ready to complete
your order. If, for any reason, you must disconnect or the session expires due to inactivity,
the information in your shopping cart will be saved for your next login unless you actively
clear or delete the items before you logoff.

How do I enter a catalog part
number that includes punctuation and spaces?
Enter the part number without dashes ( - ) or underscores ( _ ) or spaces.
Periods may be required if listed as part of the number or may need to be excluded
if an error message occurs.
