Machinists Can Make Anything with Kennametal

1. Eligibility

The Kennametal Machinist of the Year contest (“Contest”) is open to current, active customers of Kennametal Inc. or its affiliates (“Kennametal”) that have used Kennametal products in their workshop for at least one (1) year prior to entry. Customers submitting entries to the contest do so on behalf of the respective customer and with the respective customer as the intended beneficiary of contest prizes.  Kennametal Inc. Employees, officers, and directors of Kennametal Inc., its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies, and their immediate family members are not eligible to participate. The Contest is void where prohibited by law.

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins January 1, 2026 and ends June 30, 2026 (“Contest Period”). Regional finalists will be announced in July 2026, and regional winners will be revealed in September/October 2026 at designated trade shows and online.

3. How to Enter

During the Contest Period, eligible participants must:

1. Create a video of no more than 60 seconds showing how they use Kennametal products in their work and explaining why they should be named Machinist of the Year.
2. Post the video publicly on their own social media account – LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, WeChat (APAC only) or WhatsApp (India only).
3. Tag @Kennametal and include the hashtag #KMTMachinist in the post.

Each participant may submit one (1) entry. No purchase necessary. Entries that do not meet the requirements or that contain inappropriate, infringing, or misleading content will be disqualified.

4. Judging and Voting

Kennametal’s regional marketing teams (Americas, EMEA, APAC, and India) will review all eligible entries and select up to three (3) finalists per region based on the following criteria:

• Demonstrated use and understanding of Kennametal tooling (40%)
• Craftsmanship and machining skill (30%)
• Creativity and storytelling (20%)
• Community engagement and enthusiasm (10%)

Finalists will be announced in July 2026, and public voting will open on official Kennametal channels. The machinist in each region receiving the most verified votes will be declared Machinist of the Year for that region.

5. Prizes

Each regional Machinist of the Year will receive:

• Feature on Kennametal’s website, blog, and social media channels
• Award package including exclusive signage and merchandise
• $7,500 (USD equivalent) in branded “Machinist of the Year” Toolbox and Kennametal tooling
• Invitation to lead live machining demonstrations at a global trade show 
• Automatic designation as a Kennametal Brand Ambassador

Prizes are non-transferable and may not be exchanged for cash and/or additional tooling.

6. Notification of Winners

Potential winners will be notified via direct message or email by Kennametal after the close of voting. Winners must respond within ten (10) business days to confirm acceptance. Failure to respond may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. Kennametal reserves the right to verify eligibility and compliance with these rules before awarding any prize.

7. Rights and Permissions

By entering, participants grant Kennametal Inc. a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, publish, and display their name, likeness, and submitted content in any media for promotional, educational, or public-relations purposes without further compensation or notice, except where prohibited by law.

8. General Conditions

Kennametal reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the Contest in whole or in part for any reason, including technical failures, fraud, or causes beyond its control. All decisions regarding eligibility, judging, and voting are final and binding.

9. Dispute Resolution

Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to these Contest or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation or validity thereof, including the determination of the scope or applicability of this agreement to arbitrate, shall be determined by arbitration in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before one arbitrator. The arbitration shall be administered by JAMS pursuant to its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules and Procedures. Judgment on the Award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. This clause shall not preclude parties from seeking provisional remedies in aid of arbitration from a court of appropriate jurisdiction.
