Fine Boring Cartridge
Fine boring cartridges provide exceptional precision and flexibility in high-precision finishing operations. They are designed with and internal coolant supply directed to the cutting edge to ensure effective chip evacuation and cooling, vital for extending tool longevity. The micro-adjustable cartridges offer precise radial adjustments with minimal measurable backlash, compensating for wear and tool body/insert tolerances. The boring cartridge adjustment mechanism operates independently of the axial position of the insert to save time setups. Additionally, the fine cartridges feature a .0004" (0,01mm) diameter adjustment respective 0.00008" (2 μm) with vernier scale within a range of .0118" (0.3mm). The smallest diameters can be machined starting from 1.18" (30.0mm). An axial adjustment range of .039" (1mm) offers additional flexibility. Kennametal fine boring cartridges are ideal for use on a wide-range of materials in drilling and countersinking applications. The complex flute and coolant channel designs prevent chip jamming and enable increased machining speeds without compromising quality.
