Grades
KCSM40
Coated carbide grade with an advanced PVD TiAlN/TiN coating. Premium substrate with newly developed binder composition. KCSM40 is a high-performance grade for titanium, super alloys, and stainless steel. High thermal shock resistance of the substrate makes this grade ideal for wet machining. First choice for roughing and unsuitable cutting conditions.
Features and benefits
- Inserts with large corner radii from 0.8mm (.031") to 32mm (.125") fit into front row pockets of all cutter bodies.
- Inserts with large corner radii of 4.0mm (.158") ONLY fit into front row pockets of all cutter bodies ending without "R".
- For insert clearance, the front row cutter body pockets must be modified.
- Inserts with large corner radii from 4.8mm (.188") to 6.4mm (.250") fit into front row pockets of cutter bodies ending with "R".
