Mark all as readThe coal energy industry has demanding environments. Coal-fired power produces extremely abrasive, corrosive, and erosive environments. Fly ash and other particulates cause severe damage to boiler tubes, fan blades, coal burner components, pulverizers, and ash conveyance systems. Left unprotected, these components are less productive, more costly to operate, and prone to frequent failure.
Kennametal’s brazed tungsten carbide cladding can change that. Avoid unscheduled downtime, reduce maintenance costs, virtually eliminate costly blowouts, and prevent lost product during conveyance. Cladding-protected components withstand abrasion, corrosion, and erosion to perform better, and for longer.
Wear Plates
Wear plates are directly in the path of the wear-damage storm. But Kennametal cladding stands strong against the forces of wear in pulverizing operations. We designed these wear plates for better forming and machining. Our wear plates are easily installed using conventional welding.
Coal Riffles
Kennametal-cladded boiler riffles simply last longer. The weight-to-erosion-resistance ratio is perfectly balanced for uniform protection. Balanced combustion is an added benefit from our cladded riffles so your system runs at the best firing conditions.
Burner Components
Burner components protected with Kennametal cladding wear far less than unprotected components. That means better nitrous oxide (NOx) emission performance, which is safer for you and the environment. Our cladding protects burner components from daily erosion damage, which makes these components last longer and produce more. Enjoy fewer equipment shutdowns and component changes.
Boiler Tubes
Boiler tubes coated with Kennametal cladding are protected from erosion and eliminate the need for tube shields in soot blower lanes. Linear wear is even and predictable, so no surprises from unexpected blowouts. Our cladded boiler tubes meet ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (S Stamp) requirements.
