5720 Series • Two Cutting Edges • Ap1 max 16mm

The 5720 Ap1 16mm series of shoulder mills offer high metal removal rates for machining aluminum. These cutters provide maximum stability in high-speed applications and allow each body to hold inserts with different radii without losing any gauge height of the cutter length. The pockets of the cutters are reinforced to allow for heavy feeds, safe ramping, and provide more line contact when utilizing larger radius inserts for more stability. Additionally, the profile and pocketing cutters feature through-tool coolant allowing better chip evacuation. The 5720 series of cutters and inserts are ideal for machining thin-walled components. Cylindrical shank designs are balanced, but the shell mill and modular head cutters are not balanced. It is recommended to balance the shell mill and adapter as an assembly for high-speed machining.
